Let's Go All the Way

Analysis of the lyrics found in the song “Let’s Go All the Way” by the Insane Clown Posse

While I do not identify as a Juggalo per se, I have a profound appreciation for ICP’s style. My favorite of their songs is “Let’s Go All the Way” on the Bizzar album, because it has what is easily the most uplifting and inspiring message I have ever heard in a rap song. It describes a true Utopia, one in which everyone is seen and loved and wanted.

The lyrics to the song in question are thus (analysis in parentheses):

“Ain’t nobody jealous. Everybody has they own.” (Not only does everyone have their own, this implies that partners are loyal to one another. It also means equitable distribution of resources: everybody has their own job, apartment, car, whatever. No reason to envy anyone else, because everyone is happy with what they have.)

“Nobody locked up. Everbody, everybody is free to roam.” (Inferring that nobody commits any crimes that would justify being locked up.)

“Look at that scrubby, with a hottie on his side.” (There is no description of the “hottie,” allowing the listener to picture whomever they want. Also, the use of “on his side” rather than “by” or “at” implies that they are supportive and encouraging partners, not just arm candy. After the line about no jealousy, this tells us that the hottie is exactly what that scrubby wants and needs in his life.)

“Look at them rich kids, poor kids everybody together on the same side, and they down to ride.” (Here, they are clearly referring to a better socioeconomic structure that doesn’t pit different tribes against one another, allowing true intertribal collaboration.)

“Ain’t nobody left out. Everybody gets to go. It can never be too crowded; come on,we still picking up some more.” (Demonstrating the inclusive and welcoming nature of the Juggalo community. Those who have been left out all their lives can find a home in the Dark Carnival, which is probably the greatest virtue of Juggalo culture.)

“Don’t nobody hate you, playa hate you. There ain’t no hate at all.” (No hate means that nobody does anything hateful and nobody hates you for being who you are. Everyone coexists in peace.)

“Gotta hold out their hands and catch you. They’ll catch you, and they never will let you fall. You ain’t gotta worry all o y’all.” (This is my favorite verse. It reflects a true family, one where everyone looks out for everyone else.)

“Never no sickness. Nobody has to die.” (This is an indication that the destination is Shangri-La, where you live in Heaven without dying.)

“Everything’s answered right then and there. You never have to wonder why.” (I think this refers to big things like what you should be doing with your life and why some people were fuckfaces before changing their ways and following ICP into the magic that is the Carnival.)

“Won’t nobody rush you. No hurry. Be as long as you want to be.” (This is a nice, relaxed way of thinking about time. One other indication of eternal life.)

“Can you gues what this place is? Your future. Make it a reality. All you have to do is follow me.” (Personally, I would vote for Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope as President and VP. They’d do a better job than the clowns currently running the country. Think about how epic their speeches would be. Everyone in attendance would be drenched with Faygo.)

A lot of the lyrics to ICP songs are so violent that they become cartoonish. They certainly don’t shy away from graphic content. But under the blood and guts, they have a message: Don’t be an asshole, and we’ll get along just fine.

I think everyone can support that. Let’s go all the way.
